Notes |
Pittman was called the "poet-painter of the empty room." Hobson's career was periods rather easily discerned. He began with the simple monotones done while in France. He then began a long period devoted in nostalgic Victorian interiors remembered from his childhood. This was followed by a still-life and flower period, and toward the end of his career, he dabbled in abstracts. |
