Object Name Painting
Description Rachelle Maxwell Moore (1890-1964) was a woman who by her genuine love of art stimulated an interest in art in all who knew her, who fostered art in Greenville through the Woman's Club, who encouraged the production of North Carolina artists, who more than any other one person, brought into being the East Carolina Art Society and the Greenville Art Center (now Greenville Museum of Art) and who by her gallant example, showed the way to that affirmation and celebration of life which is the object of art.
