Philip Anthony Moose was born in Newton, NC and makes his home in Blowing Rock. He has been an Associate Professor of Fine Arts at Davidson College (1951-1953) and an Associate Professor of Fine Arts at Queens College (1956-1967). Mr. Moose studied art at Columbia University and the National Academy of Design in New York, to name a few. In 1948, Mr. Moose was the recipient of the Pulizer Award; he received the Tiffany Award in 1949, and Fulbright Awards in 1953 and 1963, the latter to Taiwan, China. His work has been exhibited in Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Corcoran Gallery of Art, and has numerous one-man shows throughout the United States.
